Delhi University to roll out Internet based TV channel

In the current hot admission session, the students of Delhi University are going to get another surprise in form of a Television channel. Delhi University Television Network (DUTN) will soon be facilitating the students with regular updates, events and happenings taking place with in the premises of colleges.

This information has been revealed to The Hindustan Times. University holds plan to launch the channel in near future. The channel will initially be operational in 10 colleges of North Campus and will eventually try to expand its ambit to other colleges as well. Plans of listing the channel in the category of major channel are also there.

DUTN will be an Internet based TV channel that will showcase college events, sports activities, parties (freshers’ and farewell), important circular, information, notification and programmes conducted by University management. The channel will also act as a perfect platform for both the management and students for their expressions of views.

However information regarding the operational structure, manpower and working pattern of channel is yet to be revealed. It is yet to be seen what revenue model, this channel will adopt or will it be funded completely by the University.
